The trend of tightening guidelines for ERRCS continues across the country.  Many municipalities, AHJ’s (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and Fire Marshals are tightening the guidelines for buildings that need testing/systems to insure First Responders have seamless two-way radio communications INSIDE buildings.  Fort Bend County in Texas has now changed it’s guidelines for new buildings that require ERRCS testing before occupancy.  Previously, buildings UNDER 50,000 square feet did not require testing.  Changes to the fire code now require new buildings OVER 12,000 square feet to be tested.  Obviously this is going to require a lot of projects in Fort Bend Country to be tested that previously were exempt.  Regulations nationwide are getting tighter and that trend is most likely to continue.  Most buildings under 50,000 square are not going to have issues with two-way radio communications but there will be exceptions.  Testing is the only way to determine the need.  If you are not certain of regulations in your area of the country please contact us today.  We are happy to provide answers.  Don’t get caught in a situation where your occupancy permit is delayed.  Testing with the professionals at SpeakEZ Communications is easy, inexpensive and hassle free.  Contact us today.
